Playing Career Path in the MLS

MLS careers often include stops outside the league entirely -- a spell at a club abroad, or time in a lower American or Canadian division -- since MLS sits in a global market for players rather than a closed one. A Career Path chain here can look sparse simply because only the MLS stops show up, even if the player's full career was much busier. When you do see multiple MLS stops, it usually reflects the league's allocation and re-entry mechanisms moving players between clubs in ways that don't always track a simple trade.
