Playing Higher/Lower in the NFL
Career totals in the NFL are compressed by short average careers and a hard salary-cap-driven roster churn, so longevity is worth more here than in a sport where players routinely stick around for fifteen-plus years. A player who simply lasted longer in the league -- even in a smaller role -- can out-total a flashier player who peaked hard and left early. Lean on career length as a tiebreaker whenever the two players' reputations feel roughly equal.
