What Statzle collects, what it does not, and where the sports data comes from.

Last updated July 2026

Statzle is a small, independently-run daily puzzle site. This page explains what information we collect and how it's used, in plain language.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you sign in — used only to send you a sign-in link.
  • A display name and avatar, if you choose to set them on your profile — shown publicly on the leaderboard.
  • Gameplay data such as guesses and streaks, to run the game and show your rank on the leaderboard.

How we use it

Solely to run Statzle: authenticating you, remembering your streak, and displaying your chosen name/avatar to other players on the leaderboard. We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Third-party services

  • Supabase — handles authentication and stores account/profile data.
  • Vercel — hosts the website.

Where puzzle data comes from

The player stats and career histories behind each day's puzzles are pulled from public sports data sources — this is one-way: these sources don't receive any information about you or your visit, they're just where the puzzle content itself comes from.

  • NFL nflverse (CC-BY 4.0)
  • NBA & WNBA — stats.nba.com, via the community-maintained nba_api client
  • MLB — the official MLB Stats API
  • NHL— the NHL's public web API
  • Premier League & MLS Wikidata (CC0)
